Summer Art Camp 2013

1st week of art camp was so fun!  Here is a glimpse of just a few things we did this week.
Fun Window art I put on the window of the studio.

These pictures are of window art that we did.
The beauty of making these was that the kids could then take them home
and peel it off the plastic and put them on their window at home.
Very fun project.

The Art School year is officially done.

We had the art show and so I am calling the art school year officially done!  That is the grand finale or as my friend Melinda calls it, my season finale! Ha, ha!  This was our 3rd annual art show at the Lynden Library.  We always have a great crowd of around 300 people.  Our students have a lot of supportive families and friends!
A huge thank you to the Library for being a community minded place.  I appreciate them so much and welcoming us with open arms.  They are happy to accommodate us.  I think we are doing them a favor too by adding wonderful, colorful art to their walls!

Here are a few pictures of the show.
The Mona Lisa Cut out idea is credit to Pinterest.  The actual execution of the project is credit to my hubby's woodworking skills!  He created the wood stand for it to go on.  It was a hit!  What a great addition to the art show this year.  I wish I had a better picture of it from farther away.
Me and one of my amazing art students.  I loved seeing everyone and their families.  What a celebration!
The art was displayed on top of the bookshelves in the kids section.

 It stayed up all week!
What a great variety of artwork.
They were varying ages from 5-16yrs.  Although I took up to 18yrs this year, my oldest was 16yrs.
On top of the magazine stand.
Watercolor/pencil and pastel was displayed on the wall.

The artwork got great exposure to the public and great comments were said all week long.  Great job to all my wonderful students.  I will miss you bunches this summer and look forward to the fall.  Although I do see some of you signed up for Summer Art Camp in July!  whooo hoo!

I will be there of course!  I want to meet all the families and talk to each and every one of the artists.

I like to say a big thank you! to Jenna Matthews and Karah Clover for being my wonderful art assistants this year! They have each helped me with different younger classes this year and then took the older class themselves.  They have pretty much been an intern, learned a lot about art, working and serving these kids.  They both have amazing, caring hearts,  they love the Lord and are fun to be around!  I am so grateful for them both.

A HUGE thank you goes out to every family that sent their child here this year to Art with B. Calvert.  You make my dream job a reality and I love you for that.

See you Tuesday  night!
