Her family then will be missionaries to Papa New Guinea starting in July. I will miss her so much!
She will be featured at the Artist reception night on April 1st. Here is a sneak peak of some her artwork. She is so artistically talented! I feel honored to have had her work with me these last 4 years.
There will be more of her artwork featured at the art show, April 1st, so be sure to be there! You will find it in the foyer meeting room. Here are some answers to questions I gave her.

Question 1. What school are you
graduating from?
I am a 2016 graduate of Lynden Academy! I am so excited and honored to be graduating from the program. Small as it may seem, Lynden Academy and the teachers there have helped me grow in so many ways. they have encouraged me to be a hard worker, flexible, and humble and honest. If I have these things, then there is nothing that can keep me from reaching my goals. A big thank you to all the teachers and parents that pour their hearts into our school.

2. Where did you go
to school before this?
I have
attended Lynden Academy now since my Sophomore year in high school. Before that
I attended a private Christian school in California, and have been homeschooled
off and on as well.
3. What do you plan on doing after
graduation? After
graduation, I will be moving with my family to Papua New Guinea to pursue
missions work in bible translation with Wycliffe. My parents will be part of
bible translation projects for the local tribes. I will be gaining
experience in the medical field, interning at the clinic in Ukarumpa and
traveling out to the local villages and assisting the doctors. I hope to return
to the states in a few years after gaining field experience. My goal is to then
pursue a degree in nursing, and then hopefully return to the missions field.
However, I’m still not sure how God will choose to use the gifts he's given me
in regards to art. It’s such a huge part of my life, and I pray that one day he
will use to glorify His kingdom and to encourage the people around me.
4. What is your favorite art medium or thing to draw?
I love art,
and being in Mrs. Calvert's class and helping out with the kids has certainly
given me a broader perspective on all kinds of art. My favorite styles of art,
however, would have to be drawing with graphite and painting with watercolors.
I love drawing and painting people, because of the challenge, the uniqueness of
each person, and the rich emotions the picture can convey. God calls each
one of us His masterpiece, and trying to recapture that in a picture is
what inspires me so much when drawing people. I also love to draw horses,
landscapes, certain ideas from Scripture, and anything in God's creation that
really I find inspiring or beautiful.
5. Favorite color?
Favorite color....Hmm. That is a hard one. I think so
many colors are beautiful. But if I had to pick one, it would probably be
Turquoise blue, the kind of blue the sea turns when the sky and the water
are clear and it glistens in the afternoon sunlight like a jewel.
6. Who is in your family?
My mother and
father are Steve and Mindy Clover. I have two younger brothers, named
David and Johnny. I have been so blessed with such a wonderful family. My
brothers are quite possibly the best brothers in the world! We have been
through so much together, and I pray all three of us will forever
stay best friends.
7. How long have you assisted Mrs. Calvert in art school?
I have been an art teacher in Mrs. Calvert's
class since my first year of High school. It’s hard to believe it’s been four
awesome years already! I have enjoyed helping with all the awesome kids that
are a part of Brenda's classes. Each one of them is unique and wildly creative,
and I love seeing how their talents improve and how they fall in love with art.
I have been honored to learn so much about art, and how it affects every part
of life, in the 4 amazing years I've spent assisting Mrs. Calvert and
taking classes from her as well.
8. What other interests do you have?
Besides art, I am
very passionate about horses. Since living here in Washington, God has blessed
me with the wonderful opportunity to care for and ride two very
beautiful horses whom I absolutely adore. I also enjoy in my spare time,
writing, avidly reading (the Lynden library is one of my favorite places),
photography, running, exploring the outdoors, and hanging out with the awesome
friends God has blessed me with.
