Also, I am writing to let you know I will be cancelling my Wednesday classes starting in January 2016. Wednesday classes will resume for October and November 2015, but will then be no longer from Jan-Apr. I am having to cut back on my actvities. In June, my body crashed and I was in bed for 6 weeks. Now, that homeschool and art classes have started up, I feel my body slowing down and loss of energy starting to happen. So, I felt the Lord telling me to cancel one of my art days. I told my Wednesday students of the change happening in January and I was overwhelmed with their love and concern. You never know what people are thinking and to have them respond in that way was so nice. They really love the art classes and what I am doing here in class each week. I feel bad to take that away from them. As it goes for most moms, I am sure it is hard for a lot of us to say no. But, I must save my energies for my kids and husband. So, this is the best solution for right now. I just dont want to get sick again.
That saying, "the days are long but the years are short" is so true. Just seeing how much my kids have grown in pictures is amazing because it is hard to see in the day to day.
I feel so fortunate to have such loyal art students that come to me year after year. This speaks to me more than you know. Watching your kids grow has been a huge blessing. Some students I have had for 5 or 6 years! Watching their artistic growth has been amazing as well. So fun to see their artwork.
Thus, having cut back one day, my classes are now full with no room in the Thursday and Saturday classes.
I will be having an art show on April 1st. I hope you all attend this fun evening together. Save the date!

5th Annual Art Show Report
The Art Show at the Lynden Library was a success on Friday night! There was a large crowd to support all the artists. I was very glad with all the people that came. In general we get about 300 guests. With 67 art show participants, that is bound to happen. The art show is a must, in my opinion. To showcase the artwork at the end of the year is important. It shows that what the artist has been working on is special and worth showing to others. It has value. The library looks beautiful with the art on the wall too. All around it is such a wonderful event.

Acrylic musical instruments
musical instruments--In the month of May, We worked on canvas with acrylic paints. The students painted a musical instrument of their choice. There were about 80 in all. So, I only was able to take a few pictures this time. They all did so good! Ages 5-18yrs.
Music and Art---Just a natural team!
This is me and my one of my awesome art assistants, Karah! Yes, she really is that tall! Or I'm really that short. =) She has been an amazing help to me this year on Thursdays. |
