Clay / Paper Mache Art Camp

OK. This was seriously messy (with all the paper mache paste everywhere) BUT.... this week was seriously FUN! It went seriously quick! The week is already over for paper mache' and clay art camp week! The kids made some fabulous pieces.

Pictured here are their paper mache' projects, a mask and a turtle.  I wish I would have taken some close up pictures for you of these;  they were really quite good.   The kids also did 2 clay projects( not pictured).  Thanks to the Tickled Paint Pottery Store for the use of their Kiln!
Ta, Ta for now!  See you next week for:
Scratch art and Watercolor and design a plate!

Yes you can!

We now have wheelchair access!
My husband, Justin, built a ramp for an art student that is coming to an art camp later this summer.   They use an electric wheelchair and needed the ramp in order to attend camp.  This makes me so happy and I hope more wheelchair bound students join us in the future.  Art class should be an opportunity for everyone because art provides confidence in a job well done,  allows you to put your thoughts on paper, encourages creativity, it uses critical thinking skills,  you make friends and here at Art with B Calvert, this is a safe place where you are never put down for your work.

I made Jasmine sit here in the picture so you can see how big she has gotten! She is 9 mo old now.  Where is she during art class?  She sits in the room next door to the art class, she is not in class with us.   Maybe one day when she can sit in one place for an hour(or more) at a time; then she could sit with us in the art room!  =)

Have a great day in the sunshine everyone!
