March Monet

We studied Claude Monet in the month of March and replicated his Japanese bridge with water lily picture.  What fun to use the strokes that he used and to think in terms of color.  These parents are lucky they get to put these beautiful pictures on their walls!

 

 

 

 

Great job on your interpretations of Claude Monet's water lilies picture!  Have a wonderful Spring Break this week and see you in April, 9-12, for drawing faces month!

February Clay Creatiions

Here are the Clay Pottery finished products.  Hand sculpted bowls, animals, vases, candle holders, coasters, a paddle boat, tea pots, tea cups, a cell phone holder, a cross, a prayer bowl, seahawks sign, mugs, plates, and creamer containers.  Whew!  We were busy.

 

 

Penny Drive in February

We are having a little ol' penny drive in February at Art with B. Calvert.  It has been a super huge blessing to me so far!  Kids have been carting in their loose change.  Some have been bringing in dollars.  Some have been buying my art that I had for sale to hope further the Penny Drive giving.

There is only this week left to give.

 

The money will go towards getting a Diabetic Aid Dog (D.A.D.) for my niece, Gloria, who is a type 1 diabetic.   They need to raise $2500.00 to get this dog.  He will have been trained to smell her breath to tell if her blood sugar level is low or not.  Pretty amazing, right?  This would greatly help her parents (my brother and his lovely wife, Angela) and be another watchful eye on her.  Especially in the nighttime when everyone is asleep!

 

I am excited to report next week to you all how much was raised.  I absolutely love showing the kids that with their two cents, coming together, we really can make a difference in someone else's life!

Can you find the letter in the picture?

The assignment this past week was to put the first letter of your name in your imaginative picture.  Then they were to zentangle their picture by putting patterns inside the image. It was a lot of fun. The process I think was the most rewarding as they had to think outside the box and put their imaginations to work! Love it!

 

 

 

 

Some letters are hard to find and others are quite obvious.
