September Pencil Art

We are finished with September classes and want to share a little peek of what we worked on!  This is some pencil drawings of a still life.  This is an example of one of the compositions we made with our cowboy gear.
We moved these items around quite a bit and made different still life ideas to create.  The artists did a great job.   I enjoy them looking at an object and drawing what they see.

Artist in Action 2013

Well, the Fair is here in Whatcom County and we are in full swing!
A bunch of my students are partaking in the Artist in Action event at the Fair in the art barn.
Come by and see them, you still have 3 more days of the fair the check it out.
Here is one of my students, going above and beyond and actually drawing pictures upon request for people.  He has examples of what he can draw on the board and then people have been coming up to him with requests and then he gifts them a picture.  I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of him!  Love it!  I also want to give a big shout out to my other wonderful students who have participated in this program. Thank you

The purpose of artist in action is that the public can see the work that goes behind all the artwork on the walls.  They get to see the process in action.  Thankful that the Fair Superintendent sees the importance of the arts in our community.

report on 2nd week of art camp

The last week of art camp is done and so I would just like to recap our week together.   I had another great group of kids this past week.  We created the same projects that the kids last week made.  Doing two weeks of the same thing sure made it a lot easier on me!  I already had it figured out what I was going to do and knew my system of what works.  I could just focus on teaching and loving on these kids.  But, let me tell you, they sure showed me love too!  I am always just amazed at the love sent my way from these artists.  It sure makes all the hard work behind the scenes worth it!

Here are some pictures of our week together:

These cat in a bird cage pencil drawings are from my 10-13yr olds group.
This was a very fun picture!  I love how all of the cats have a personality.
