Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

As, I sit here relaxing now, as the turkey is in the oven and I await family to arrive for dinner, I am reminded of all I have to be thankful for.  I am thankful for shelter, food, clothing; all the necessities of life.   But, what I find myself most thankful for is people.  The people in my life who join with me in the daily activities .  Whether it be by phone call or in person, I am thankful for all the relationships that keep me going who give me encouragement and friendship as we share the ins and outs of life.    I try to encourage and give my care in return.

Here are some faces that I am so very thankful for; my art students.  No matter how I am feeling that day, when one of my art students walk in the door, my face lights up.  I just love what I do.   I couldn't imagine doing anything else now!

November was watercolor month.  We accomplished a lot by doing three projects!
Here is one of the projects: SELF PORTRAITs.

October Acrylic Painting Still Life

This very fallish month of October we composed a still life.  Students were taught what components you need to make a good still life.  I am featuring the 5-9 yr olds this month because I featured the older students in my blog in September.

Aren't they all so great!?   Love how they turned out!  Great job, all!!!
Check out my facebook page if you want to see all the pictures from age 5-18yrs.

Sketch Book Homework

Thanks to my sister for letting me put up these great pictures of her boys doing their homework!  They went on a hike and decided to bring their sketchbooks along.   They ended up finding a beautiful waterfall to draw.  What a great idea!

There is art everywhere! Everywhere you go there is something to create.

Thank you, Treasa, for letting your kids come to art class and learn about art.

Art Assistant Announcement

I am thrilled to announce I have 2 new team members this year!

With my growing business, I don't want anything or anybody(students) to lag behind.  With 55 students coming in and out each week, I could use some help in the younger aged classes.
The good Lord has blessed me with 2 art assistants this 2012-13 school year;  I am so thankful for them.     They will be helping me assist the 5-9 yr old classes that are a bit fuller in size.  They will have several duties: help set up and take down before and after class, get art supplies to students, assist students that need extra help and are willing to assist me in anything that might come up that day!
Assisting me in 3 different classes is Karah Clover.   She will help me in the Wednesday 9:30am, Thursday 4pm and Thursday 5:30pm.
Assisting me in 1 class is Jenna Matthews.  She will help me in the Saturday 9:30am class.
Both of these young ladies are good with kids and love art!  They are a great addition to the Art with B. Calvert Family.  Your student/child will love them as much as I do; I am sure!

There is still room in most of the classes.
Classes start this week, so do not delay!
Check out the Class days/ times tab  for more info.

Do you want to know more of my story and how I came to be of where I am today?  Pick up my personal story of how I became an art teacher in my studio, next time you stop by to see me.
